India and Australia are playing Bilateral ODI Series. India won the Toss and elected to Bowl first against Australia at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. India Bowled well Initially but Mitchell Marsh scored 81 Runs off 65 balls, at a strike rate of 124.62. Travis Head was bowled by Siraj for 5. No one from Australia took Responsibility, Wickets kept falling from both Ends. Mohammed Shami Bowled Exceptionally Well in the 2nd Spell where he Bowled 2 maidens and took 3 Wickets. Australia was bowled out for 188 runs. Ravindra Jadeja took 2 Wickets, Mohammed Siraj as usual took 3 Wickets for 29 runs. Shami took 3 Wickets for 17 runs. Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandya took 1 wicket each. India Needed 189 runs to win. Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill opened the Indian Innings and Kishan was LBW trapped in front of the Wicket, of the bowling of Marcus Stoinis. He took review, it stayed the same. Border Gavaskar Trophy has ended yesterday, where India won the series 2-1 against the Mighty Australian Team. It was a well fought series where Indian Cricket Team came out victories. It started with a Win at Nagpur Test followed by a win at Delhi Test. Australia made a great comeback at Indore Test and then again It was a Draw test match at Ahmedabad.
Ahmedabad Test has been pretty special for the Indian team where Virat Kohli scored his 28th Hundred in Tests and 75th hundred overall. He already has 46 hundreds in ODI Cricket and 1 T20I hundred. Virat Kohli was given player of the Match award for his 186 runs.
Axar Patel has been brilliant with the bat in the Series where he scored 3 half centuries and 2 not out Innings at Indore. Ravichandran Ashwin picked 25 Wickets and Ravindra Jadeja picked 22 Wickets and scored runs as well and both of them were Adjudged Man of the Series. Shubman Gill scored his 2nd Century in Test, his outstanding form has continued from where he left in Bangladesh. Rohit Sharma also a most valuable hundred at Nagpur Test and he was all smiles after lifting the Trophy for the first Time. It has been a record that India has lifted Border Gavaskar Trophy for 4 consecutive series. India had a keen eye on Srilanka Vs New Zealand series as well, where qualification scenario had to be decided by the outcome of the Test Match. Srilanka lost on the Last ball of the Test Match and India Qualified for the World Test Championship on June 7, at Oval London.
India would be playing against Australia in the finals of World Test Championship.
After the test series against Australia is over, ODI Series would be started from March 17. It would be an Interesting 3 Match ODI Series as ODI World Cup is also scheduled in October in India.
